Walt Disney Hometown Museum's Disneyland Models

This was my very favorite part from Walt Disney Hometown Museum! All of these scale models of Disneyland fill a whole room of the museum. They were created by the artist Dale Varner, who spent FORTY YEARS working on this project. After visiting Toonfest in 2006, he asked the museum if they would like his models for a permanent exhibit. They were installed here in 2008. Mr Varner passed away in 2009, leaving some of the models unfinished.

These are just a few of my favorites out of Francis's photos. There is much, much more to see, so be sure to visit the second floor of the Walt Disney Hometown Museum when you are in Marceline, MO! You can also read more about the project here.
